Understanding Catholicism
Catholic Teachings That Brought Me Home
As I began rediscovering my Catholic roots, I found myself stunned by the wisdom, consistency, and spiritual depth of the Church’s teachings. Here are some foundational truths I’m still learning and living out today.
🕯️ The Eucharist
Christ is truly present — Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity — in the Eucharist. This is not a symbol. It is Jesus Himself, offered daily on the altar for love of you.
🔑 Confession
After 35 years away, I returned to Confession and experienced the healing and mercy of God in a way I never imagined. This sacrament is a gift — not something to fear, but to treasure.
🌟 Mary, Our Mother
The Miraculous Medal, Rosary, Brown Scapular and Total Consecration opened my heart to Mary’s unique role in salvation. She always points us to Jesus — gently, powerfully, and lovingly.
🌍 Communion of Saints
We are surrounded by a great cloud of witnesses — saints in heaven and souls on earth who journey with us. They are not dead; they are alive in Christ.
✨ "The Church is not an institution; it is a family, and you belong."
